About The Designers:
Heaps & Woods is a company born from a shared love of iconic design and a desire to produce beautiful, sustainably crafted furniture.
The founders Louis & Marta met in Bali, Indonesia. Louis was living there to study Indonesian carpentry techniques. Marta, an interior designer by trade, was on vacation to immerse her self within the culture and the islands natural beauty. The pair connected quickly, embarking on a personal relationship that later blossomed into what Heaps & Woods is today.
They soon realized the potential in the nature of materials available in this corner of the Earth and began getting to know and create relationships with the local craftsmen who still produce all of their furniture today.
In 2019, Louis and Marta moved to Barcelona, Spain where their family continues to grow, as they connect with their collective of makers, creative collaborators, and clients around the world, taking pride in their timeless and unique collection of handmade furniture.
Louis is a spirited entrepreneur at heart, he takes the role of overseeing the Heaps & Woods production process, maintaining close relationships with their network of artisans and suppliers over in Indonesia, as well as building strong connections with all our clients and collaborators. Marta is the heart and soul of Heaps & Woods creative output, putting feeling and emotion into every aspect of the visual journey they take their clients on. Marta’s artistic mind is crucial in every stage of the artisan furniture’s conception, from the initial inspiration and sketch, to the technical drawings and choice of materials, including the photography and creative direction of the images you see on their website and social media

The Pia Bedside Table features a minimal yet sturdy teak wood frame and a generously sized drawer with a handwoven rattan exterior. The antique travel trunk inspiration for this piece is evident in its design, evoking impressions of journeys along the old East Indian Railway. Pia is an adaptable piece that combines classic design with a touch of the Orient and can be placed in any space, complimenting a number of aesthetic directions
