Keiji Takeuchi
Keiji Takeuchi was born in Fukuoka, Japan, and spent most of his youth in New Zealand. He also made a scholarship study at ENSCI/ Les Ateliers in Paris, France. After completing a bachelor’s degree in product design in New Zealand, he returned to Japan, where he worked for Naoto Fukasawa. In 2012, he moved to Milan and established his own design office in 2015. Elle Decor Japan awarded him the Japanese Young Talent Award the following year.
Takeuchi’s life approach is highly international, and his vision for design naturally reflects his multicultural personality. He can see things from diverse angles, and his way of approaching design emphasizes the essentiality of things, where he finds his way to improve the nature of products in the simplest yet most human way. Furthermore, his design creates a spontaneous dialogue between objects and our daily lives. His approach to design is borderless and appreciated by diverse brands in different fields.
About The Product:
A.T.S tables collection. This Aluminum Table System was inspired by the lightness, precision and the strength of an airplane graded aluminum honeycomb panels. This specific technology is matured in Japan after years of development and today they are able to anodize the entire table top after machining and it brings a rich shine to the table tops. The entire panel of the airplane-graded material is anodized after machining, which lends a rich shine to the top surface. In Japanese designer Keiji Takeuchi's concept, the tabletop works as a reinforced structure that accommodates common screw-in joinery for the varied A.T.S. leg styles in wood or steel pipe that are available for the flat-packed DIY family
