Mina
Mina
By Internoitaliano
Designed by Tommaso Caldera
Mina wooden small chair. A chair made entirely in solid ash wood. Mina is a “minimal” seat, reduced in its proportions – about 10-15 cm less bulk than normal chairs – without sacrificing the elegant form that suggests the style of certain seating designs by Giò Ponti. The design research has focused on keeping the right balance of form, measurements and comfort. Mina is one of those products that are imagined to be of true “service,” performing at their best in tight spaces, as is often the case in French bistros, where space is exploited to the utmost to squeeze in the largest possible number of customers. Certain constructive details give the chair a unique character. For example, the very precise relationship between the back and the rear uprights (in which the back is completely enclosed), the solid wood of the seat, and the colour variations specified with extreme care by the designer. The names for all of Internoitaliano’s objects are a tribute to minor Italians towns and villages, those that are rarely celebrated, but nonetheless are just as real and representative of a suffused and authentic national identity
