Pipeline Duo

In Pipeline, two of the basic geometric shapes, line and circle, turn into expressive, sculptural furniture for everyday use. Each object in the Pipeline collection draws on the same two elements: flat aluminium sheets and voluminous tubes made of the same material. Refined mechanical connections are used to create shelves.

The compositions live from the tension between surface and volume, from unusual proportions and from an intense use of colour. Designer Nicholai Wiig-Hansen alludes to constructivism, postmodernism and minimalism, yet finds a new, contemporary expression in the refined simplification of geometric shapes and colours. His focus, however, is on everyday use: “The collection is meant to be useful in a variety of ways in living rooms, hallways, bathrooms, kitchens."
